Welcome to the hub – a
centre of excellence for sport, leisure and health. Set
in one of the finest amateur football stadiums in the
country, the hub involves the whole community –
regardless of background or fitness level – in a
healthy, fun and active lifestyle.
the hub – meets the needs of the whole community
– encouraging first-time users to take their first steps
to a healthier lifestyle. The hub team constantly
strives to develop new activities in a safe and healthy
environment. From sports clubs to social clubs, from
families to businesses – there’s something for everyone.
Families
There’s the exciting play zone with its party rooms,
soft play area and obstacle course. While the kids play,
parents and carers can take a class, catch up on their
training programme, or enjoy a break in the café bar.*
The function room is an excellent venue for family
events such as weddings, christenings and anniversaries.
*This service is restricted to specific sessions only
Youth
The youth programme includes football coaching and the
use of all-weather pitches, plus gym training and
after-school clubs.
Adults
Men and women of all ages and abilities will find
something at the hub to suit their needs. Activities
include fitness training for all and a range of gentler
classes including Yoga, Pilates, and dance. More
programmes, including adult education classes, will be
added in response to community needs.
Community Groups
The hub invites community groups to work in partnership
with our team to create and deliver programmes that meet
identified community and social needs Sports Clubs Clubs
will appreciate the excellent all-weather pitches plus
facilities for training, meetings and functions.
Business
The hub provides business with the perfect facility for
meetings, evening functions, and a range of other
activities such as team-building sessions. There’s
parking on site and catering is provided from a
state-of-the-art professional kitchen.
the hub – is a non profit distributing
organisation, run as a joint venture between South
London football club, Tooting & Mitcham United, and
Sport England. In 2005, Sport England and the Big
Lottery Fund gave the club £1.45 million to develop
stadium buildings and outdoor facilities for the benefit
of the local community.
the hub – works with individuals and
organisations – including those involved in sport,
health and education – to build valuable community
partnerships. As a special offer, local people can
register as members of the hub for free – with the
chance to purchase from a broad range of affordable and
enjoyable activities.
the hub – is a huge step towards creating a
community sports club that provides opportunities for
all while nurturing and empowering individual talent.
Future plans include indoor cricket, boxing and
basketball facilities and an upgrade of the adjoining
training pitch.

The hub - features indoor and
outdoor activity zones tailored to the needs of the
whole community. These exciting and flexible facilities
are designed to appeal to dedicated fitness enthusiasts,
to new users and to community and social groups.
Fitness Zone
Fitness – We at the
hub know how challenging it can be to keep up your
physical activity goals and motivation to exercise. So
with that in mind we have designed the fitness zone gym
to cater for all types of individuals and their needs,
disabled and able bodied alike, making us an Inclusive
Fitness Initiative (IFI) registered site that welcomes
all shapes, sizes and abilities. Within the 65 station
state of the art gym there is a welcoming atmosphere
where we genuinely want you to enjoy the benefits of
health, fitness and the fun that can be had from it!

To ensure you get the most out of
your workouts we have a sincere and friendly team of
fitness professionals that “know all the members by
their first name” and actively encourage your
progression with an emphasis on the enjoyment aspect of
fitness.
We also run a range of fitness
classes which include Cycle, Pilates, Aerobics and
Circuits.
Also as part of our ethos to
deliver health, fitness and fun to the community this
year we will also be launching a ‘Junior Gym’ membership
option which also links into our highly successful
Playzone facility. Watch this space!

Play – the play zone is a
fabulous, fun-filled soft-play centre for children under
12 years, packed with interactive and stimulating
features. (max. height: 140cm)

Challenge –the challenge
zone provides a fantastic supervised race/obstacle
course, testing ingenuity, speed, balance, dexterity,
coordination and determination for the over 8's in 1
hour sessions.
Sessions must be booked in advance, with a minimum of 4
children per session.

We’re all set up for you to hold children’s birthday
parties for all ages. Using our dedicated party rooms,
we offer a variety of activities that can be catered to

Additionally we are planning to have a multi-sensory room for people
with more severe learning difficulties and physical
disability.

Play Session, having fun with your guests in our
Playzone, demonstrating your star quality with a Dance

Challenge Zone
- The Challenge Zone provides a
dual race and obstacle course demanding ingenuity,

Party Guidelines
(Terms and Conditions)
- Minimum party size is 12
children
- The party room can
accommodate up to 20 children. If your party size is
bigger there is an option to use an additional party
room for an extra fee which must be booked at least
two weeks in advance of the party.
- Maximum of four adults per
party room. This is to ensure there is enough space
for the children to play and have party games. If
you have any more than four adults attending the
party then they can wait in the Café Bar where they
can sit and relax and purchase drinks and
refreshments. There is also the option for a large
sized hall party room at the additional cost of
£25.00 that allows more adults to attend.
- The £35 deposit is
non-refundable.
- Only food and drink bought on
the premises can be consumed on the premises. No
alcohol is permitted in the Play Zone or party room.
- It is the party organiser’s
responsibility to inform the hub of any children
that have special needs or requirements.
- You will not be able to
re-enter the Play Zone after your time in the party
room.
- The Playzone will remain open
for public use throughout the party.
- Children attending parties
must be supervised at all times.

Function Zone
Functions – a fantastic, multi-purpose room with a
state-of-the-art kitchen provides the perfect location
for sports events, group aerobic classes, club dinners,
weddings, parties, corporate training days and many
other large social and business gatherings.

Café Bar Zone
Come down to our family friendly Cafe Bar to enjoy
wholesome food and drink including all day breakfast and
fantastic kid's menu. The Cafe Bar transforms in the
evening to entertain sports fans with fully licensed bar
and a pool table. All live football games shown on two
large Plasma screens.

Outdoor Zone Outdoors – all-weather
pitches are available for football, hockey, touch rugby
and Kwik Cricket. Catering for all types of clubs and
all ages, the outdoor zone also hosts a six-a-side
football league and Football in the Community
programmes. A second training pitch is planned.

Chris Judd is the "community
football" coach based at the hub @ Tooting & Mitcham. He
promotes awareness of football and provides
opportunities for local children to be trained to a
professional level. Chris also works with women's
football and disability groups, manages the boys & girls
teams, and is a scout for Tooting & Mitcham United
Football Club - Junior Team
Chris says "It is very rewarding to help children
develop in to great sportsmen and women. The children
constantly thank me for the work that I do and I feel
that I am putting something back in to the sport I love"

Kids Zone
Act Up! @ the hub is a
brand new part-time theatre school for young people. As
well as offering excellent tuition in the three key
areas of theatre, singing, dance and drama. Act Up! also
offers children the opportunity to take part in many
other areas of the performing world including stage
combat and design. Above all, Act Up! promotes a sense
of achievement and self-belief through performance,
giving young people goals and objectives in a fun and
stimulating environment.
No audition is necessary. No
audition is required.
Act Up! @ the hub is one of South
London’s most successful part-time theatre schools for
young people. As well as offering excellent tuition in
three key areas of performance – dance, drama and
singing – Act Up! also offers children the opportunity
to take part in many other aspects of the performing
world including Mask Making and Stage Combat.
Classes take place every Saturday
in the unique surroundings of the hub @ Tooting and
Mitcham at the following times:
